Takehiko Ura

Mr. Ura graduated from the Tokyo University of Art. He received the 2nd prize in the 21st MIN-ON Music Competition.

In 1987, he joined the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. After his career as assistant principal and principal oboist, he converted to cor anglais player in the Yomiuri Symphony Orchestra.

He studied oboe under Yasuyuki Okura, Tsuyoshi Kouno, Yoshio Umehara and Yoko Kojima, and chamber music under Ryohei Nakagawa, Masatake Kaihoko, and Louis Graeler.

After leaving the Orchestra in March 2021, he started his new career as professor of music/oboe at the Showa University of Music.
