Tamas Balla

Principal oboist of the National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia since 2012.

Studied with Peter Pongrácz and József Kiss (Academy of Music, Budapest) and later with scholarship by the Albeniz Foundation with Hansjörg Schellenberger and Victor Anchel (Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia, Madrid).

Between 2009-2010 principal oboe of the Symphony Orchestra of Aarhus in Denmark.

He won numerous first prizes in national and international competitions such as the National Oboe Competition of Hungary – first prize three consecutive times, the Audi Mozart Competition in Italy – first prize, the Michal Spisak Competition in Poland – second prize, the Haverhill International Soloist Competition in England – first prize, the UFAM International Oboe Competition in Paris – first prize.

As soloist he performed with orchestras worldwide: Repsol Chamber Orchestra – Spain 2008, Arnold Sinfonia – England 2008, Essex Symphony Orchestra – England 2008, Salomon Orchestra – England 2008, Orchestra J. Futura – Italy 2008, Haydn Orchestra Bolzano – Italy 2008, Aarhus Symphony Orchestra – Denmark 2009, Montreal Chamber Orchestra – Canada 2010, National Symphony Orchestra of Colombia 2012, Philharmonic Orchestra of Cali – Colombia 2014.

He played under the botton of conductors as: Zubin Mehta, Rossen Milanov, Irwin Hoffmann, Antoni Ros-Marbá, Nicholas Collon, Takuo Yuasa, Jean Jacques Kantorow, Giancarlo Andretta, Zoltán Kocsis, Baldur Brönnimann, Andrés Orozco Estrada, Alejandro Posada.
