Merrill Greenberg

American raised Merrill Greenberg was born to a musical family in 1950. He was a student of the legendary oboist Harold Gomberg.
After completing his Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School, Merrill was invited to join the Israel Philharmonic by Maestro Mehta in 1973. For the past 38 years, Merrill has held the position of Solo English Horn in the IPO. He has appeared as soloist several times with the orchestra.

In addition, Merrill has given Master Classes in English Horn both here in Israel and the USA. In 2006, Merrill was a featured soloist at the International Double Reed Convention. He has been involved in orchestra administration for the last 25 years serving in several positions. Presently, he maintains the post of President of the General Assembly.
