Juan Manuel García-Cano

Solo oboe of Plural Ensemble (Spain) under the baton of Fabián Panisello and solo oboe and English horn of Tiroler Festspiele Orchestra (Austria) with the maestro Gustav Kuhn. From the course 2013-2014, he is assistant professor of Hansjörg Schellenberger at Europa U Bram in Poland. He was appointed oboe professor at the Soochow University School of Music (SUDA School of Music) in Suzhou, China,  from the course 2014-2015.

Former student of Hansjörg Schellenberger and Victor Ánchel during four years at the « Escuela Superior Reina Sofía » in Madrid and five years at the « Instituto Internacional de Música de Cámara de Madrid » (taking lessons with Jacques Zoon, Klaus Thunemann, Radovan Vlatkovic, Hansjörg Schellenberger and Eduard Brunner), he attended Master Classes by musicians François Leleux, Stefan Schilli, Alex Klein, Thomas Indermühle, Marco Posthingel, Dag Jensen, Radek Baborak, Stefan Schweigert, William Bennett, or Diemut Poppen.

He played in many orchestras (Spanish National Orchestra, Madrid Symphony Orchestra, Extremadura Orchestra, Luzern Festival Academy, Schleswig-Holstein Academy Orchestra, Mahler Academy Orchestra, SONY Chamber Orchestra, Freixenet Symphony Orchestra, …) in halls like Luzern KKL, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Dresden SemperOper, Hannover NDR, Bolzano Auditorium, Madrid Teatro Real, Salzburg Mozarteum, Berliner Konzerthaus. He worked with conductors like Peter Eotvos, Pierre Boulez, David Roberston, Christoph Eschenbach, Christoph von Dohnanyi, Pablo Heras-Casado, Zsolt Nagy, Zoltan Kocsis, David Afhkam, Oliver Knussen, George Benjamin, Paul McCreesh.

He shared stage playing chamber music concerts with Radovan Vlatkovic, Klaus Thunemann, Hansjörg Schellenberger, and recordings for RTVE, ORF, NDR, Mahler Foundation, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Tiroler Festspiele, Deutsche Grammophon.

Born in Móstoles (Madrid) in 1985, he also has the Diplomas in oboe, orchestral and choir conducting from the « Real Conservatorio Superior de Música » de Madrid and Musicology and MAS from the « Universidad Complutense de Madrid », as well as a first Cycle in Journalism from « Universidad Rey Juan Carlos I ».
