Dmitry Malkin

The oboist Dima Malkin, of Israeli citizenship, was born in 1976 in Ukraine. At the age of 13 he immigrated to Israel with his family.
A graduate of the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem, Dmitry completed in 2005 his Master Degree in Orchestral Performance at the Manhattan School of Music. Since 1993, he has been a recipient of the American-Israel Cultural Foundation scholarship.
Performance credits include the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the American Symphony Orchestra, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
Dmitry has been a member of the UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra since 2004 and a member of the UBS Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra since 2006. From 2006 until 2009 he worked in the Hyogo Performance Art Center Orchestra in Japan under Yutaka Sado’s baton. From 2012 working in Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra as English horn player. Between 2014 and 2017 he played as principal oboist in the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.
Since 2017 he has been a member of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra as English horn player.
