Brian Greene

Brian Greene is the Acting Second Oboe of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, a position held for the last two seasons.

Prior to his appointment in Buffalo, he served as Associate Principal Oboe of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra from 2002-2008 and played the same position with the newly-formed Hawaii Symphony Orchestra for their 2012 season.

From 2008-2012, Brian lived in Minneapolis where he played extra oboe with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and also was a substitute with the Minnesota Orchestra.

A long-time resident of New York City, he played hundreds of concerts, many domestic and international tours, and made several recordings with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. He can also be heard on the cast album for Jane Eyre, the Broadway musical, and played with nearly every ensemble in the metro New York City area during his tenure. He is a frequent substitute with many orchestras, including the Utah Symphony, The Milwaukee Symphony, The Omaha Symphony, the Kansas City Symphony, The New Jersey Symphony, and The San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.

Brian is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, where he studied with Richard Killmer, and the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he was a scholarship student of John Mack. He proudly plays Loree Royal 125.
