Andrea Ridilla

Andrea Jayne Ridilla is Professor of Music at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is a graduate of The Juilliard School and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Fanfare Magazine writes of her CD, L’Amore Italiano, the lyrical oboe in opera and cinema, “Ridilla plays with exceptional control and a beautiful tone. » The American Record Guide calls Ridilla’s playing « heartfelt and expressive ».

In 2013, Andrea was one of five international oboe soloists to be invited to perform at the Monteverdi Solo Oboe Festival in Bolzano, Italy. She was also soloist with the Camerata Rio Chamber Orchestra in Rio de Janeiro, and with the Pacific Symphony in Vladivostok, Russia at the invitation of the US State Department. In 2012, She gave masterclasses at Moscow Conservatory of Music and the St. Petersburg Conservatory of Music. She was invited guest oboe professor at Congreso de la Asociación de Doble Caña de Sevilla in Spain, and was soloist with the Orquesta da Cámara Quito in Ecuador. Andrea is Principal Oboe of the Classical Music Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria. Her teachers in the USA include James Caldwell, Robert Bloom, Louis Rosenblatt and Joseph Robinson. She has also taken perfection classes with Hansjörg Schellenberger and Maurice Bourgue.

Andrea was co-host of IDRS 2012; She is co-designer of the Ridilla Gouging Machine manufactured by Udo Heng’s firm, Reeds ‘n Stuff in Germany, which is US Patented.
