The
Piccolo Oboe, or Oboe Musette (in F), is the highest pitched oboe and
completes the oboe family. There are only a few pieces for this
instrument. Among these works, we can note “Ar-Loth” (1967) by Paolo
Renosto, and “Solo” (1971) by Bruno Maderna.
Nowadays, some composers write for Piccolo Oboe. We can also hear this instrument in “Oboe-bands”.
